| Anna Nicole Smith Biography, a little bit about Anna Nicole Smith Anna Nicole Smith was born Vicki Lynn Hogan November 28, 1967, in Mexia, Texas. After her father abandoned her and her mother when she was a child, she was raised by her mother and aunt, commuting back and forth to each caretaker. At the age of 17, Anna (then Vicki) married Billy Smith, and that same year, they welcomed their son Daniel into the world. Time with Billy was short-lived, as young Anna, now a mother, headed to Houston to turn over a new leaf. Smith starred in the The Anna Nicole Show, a "reality" TV series about her life which aired from 2002-03. Smith is a zaftig blonde bombshell with a history of heavy exposure: she was the Playboy's Playmate of the Year in 1993 and starred in a series of glossy ads for Guess? clothing. Her busting-out-all-over appeal also made her a popular pinup in the early days of the Internet. She became the stuff of talk show one-liners in 1994 when she married 89-year-old oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall. He died the next year, leaving Smith to battle his family for control of his fortune. The legal wrangling lasted until 2002, when federal judge David Carter awarded Smith $88.5 million as her share of Marshall's estate. Smith's well-known battles with her weight also led to her role as a spokeswoman for Trim Spa diet products.
